Beep Baseball Team Opens 2012 Season in NJ
The beep baseball team opened it’s 2012 season and played in the inaugural New Jersey Lightning tournament on June 16. Although the team was undermanned, the tenacious defense played by the team was outstanding. With only 5 players covering the field designed to be covered by 6 fielders, the Wolfpack held New Jersey to only 2 runs and held the Long Island Bombers to 6 earned runs. Congratulations to the 5 players and 4 volunteers for their efforts. Players for the tournament were Derren Daly, Nick Gomberg, Greg Gontaryk, Scott Hogwood, and Matt Wallace. Volunteers were Bob Gomberg, Janice Memory, Linda Memory, and Bob Memory. Extra thanks to both Greg Gontaryk and Scott Hogwood for pulling double duty by catching for the tournament. As you have noticed, we are very short of players and volunteers. Anyone else interested to be part of the Wolfpack team, please contact Greg Gontaryk email@example.com or (610) 352-1389.
The team will play next on June 30 at the Long Island Bombers Classic Tournament. The Wolfpack will then host their annual tournament in Haddonfield,NJ on July 14. This year the tournament will be sponsored by the Haddonfield Lions Club. Please show your support for our team by attending this event. Directions to the field will be attached.
